God has done a profound work in both of our lives, and continues to work today.  He has brought transformation, restoration, healing, and has united the two of us together in marriage through miraculous ways.

Justin was supernaturally transformed in a single night from alcoholism and sexual addiction to name a few, developed from an abusive childhood.   Justin relied on alcohol to calm a tormented mind in order to get to sleep nightly, and led a sexually promiscuous lifestyle that would make 50 Shades look like a Disney novel.   As if being healed wasn’t enough, within the same year God brought Justin a Proverbs 31 wife in Renee.

Renee committed to God at age 17, that she would wait on Him until He brought her a man of God.  Renee did not date a single man for thirteen years, and was sexually pure at 30 years old when she married Justin.  After staying pure and faithful to God for almost half her life, He brought her a man who had not been faithful to a single women His entire life, and who was incapable of intimacy, love and faithfulness.  This man who God brought her was a new creation, made whole, restored and transformed to be a man worthy of being entrusted with her heart.

One of the examples of God’s hand in our marriage, as well as His sense of humor has to do with the number 8.  As you read, keep in mind we had no idea this was happening.  Renee put it together when she was looking back in her journal entries after we had been married.  So, if anything else it is an example of numerology in the Bible and shows us that every detail in the Word and in your life is significant!

On June 8th, 2012 was the most intense and only confrontation between Justin and Renee, who despised him at the time because of his lifestyle.    Renee  confronted and rebuked Justin because of his inappropriate behavior while socializing with some women, which caused Justin to call Renee a few inappropriate names.  Thankfully we both can laugh about it today.

The night that God unexpectedly, supernaturally, transformed Justin healing him from alcoholism and sexual addiction, among others was November 8th, 2012.

Justin and Renee got engaged on June 8th, 2013, exactly one year to the day of their confrontation.

Justin and Renee got married on November 8th, 2013, exactly one year to the day of Justin’s transformation.

In the Bible, the number 8 symbolizes a new beginning, or a new order of things, a new creation, a new birth, and the resurrection to eternal life.

In Hebrew the number eight is (Sh’moneh), from the root (Shah’meyn), and means “to super-abound.” As seven was so called because the seventh day was the day of completion and rest, so eight, as the eighth day, was over and above this perfect completion, and was indeed the first of a new series, as well as being the eighth.

If that were not enough as it is, Justin was born on the 8th of February.

God new that Justin’s life would be a story of transformation and restoration before He was born, a testimony for the perfect love of God.
